Fran Horvath - The "Total Success Coach": I don't think it's a Mid Life Crisis!

Fran Horvath - The "Total Success Coach": I don't think it's a Mid Life Crisis!

I don't think it's a Mid Life Crisis!

I don't think it is a mid life crisis - but, I've just quit a high paying job that I held for 7 years - with absolutely no other source of income.

I've started studying the Kabbalah, I listen to Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra MP3's every week and I have a picture of a Jaguar XKR on my fridge - and I am probably going to buy this year.

The only thing is - I am totally at peace! Isn't a mid life crisis about trying to quiet an inner feeling of dissatisfaction? I feel like I am moving toward something I want - not running away from something I despise.

True, I didn't feel like I could live the life of higher consciousness and bliss I desired while customers were calling me frantic about receiving the wrong color pen! I was an account exec for a very large B2B distributor of Office Products, Furniture and Professional Cleaning supplies.

So, my customers were all fortune 500 companies - and I had to deal with CEO's who cared about profitability and process improvement; as well as admnistrators who's task was to keep the office full of blue pens - God forbid we should ship a black pen by accident.

OHMMMM...but, that is not my life anymore. I have been free for, well, what day is this?
It is a bit more difficult to keep track of the days of week when you don't get out of your pj's everyday.

Officially, I became "self employed" January 1st. WhooHoooo!

I think rather than a mid life crisis - I just got to a point in my life where I could no longer
ignore the feelings I was having that I wanted more! I wanted more peace, more joy, more
simplicity, more money, more fun!

All I had was work! Work and a faint dream.

Now, I don't recommend the path I have chosen - just jumping out of the airplane without a parachute. Most people I know who have made a change to self employment have started out working part time while still receiving a salary from their J.O.B.

I just couldn't do it. I worked 80 hours a week - and hated getting up every morning. I just couldn't imagine the struggle of no income could be any worse than the misery of doing something I despised every day for 12, 14, 18 hours a day.

So, here I am.

I actually do have a great plan. If you have read my blog or been to my website before you know I am part of a wonderful network marketing company. I started working with them a little over a year ago - had great success - with very little time invested. That was during a slow period at my J.O.B - between Thanksgiving and New Years 2006. I spent about 5 hours a week for about 6 weeks and had grown my income to about a third of what my "regular job" paid me.

And, I was making great money at my "regular job". But, as it always goes...80 hour work weeks were right around the corner and my little business just disappeared.

Any business, including direct sales, requires time and attention to build, grow and flourish. You can not expect to work for 30 hours and then quit! BUT, what I did realize is - if I could be that successful with the effort I had put in a year ago - what in the world was stopping me from replacing my income in just a few months?

Well, nothing of course except ME! So, I jumped.

I can't wait to see what happens next...I mean "create" what happens next.

Health Insurance Solution

One of the greatest fears would be entrepreneurs have is loosing their corporate health care benefits. Professor Paul Zane Pilzer, author of The Next Millionaires and The New Health Insurance Solutions has developed a better, cheaper way to obtain health insurance. Including policies where premiums cannot be increased because of claims history.

This program is so unique and effective it is not just a benefit for the self employed. Employees, college students as well as employers providing insurance for their employees are saving thousands of dollars a year on health insurance.

His new company has been featured on CNN, The 700 Club and in Newsweek. If you are interested in saving money on your health insurance you owe it to yourself to research the program and request a free, no obligation insurance quote.

Click on "Health Benefits You Must Discover" in the Links section of my blog to read more about the program and to submit a quote request.

A Little Motivation

Exert your talents, and distinguish yourself, and don't think of retiring from the world, until the world will be sorry that you retire.
Samuel Johnson

The way to gain a good reputation, is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear.

The future depends on what we do in the present.
Mahatma Gandhi

Replay your day today. What have you done to further your goals? What have you done to set your goals back? What will you intend for your tomorrow?

What if you ask yourself these same questions tomorrow night?

In my effort to gain my personal freedom in a full time self employed career - I found myself "loathing" the time I spent on my "JOB".

Even though I "knew" that what you think about expands...we all know the quotes..."as a man thinketh..."

When I finally decided to take control of my thoughts as well as my goals - everything changed. Nothing changed about my "job" - it was exactly as it had been for six years. Some days better than others; but I changed how I chose to think.

If you have never experienced a shift in thinking when everything else around you stays the same - you've got to experience it. To say that it is empowering and just a little exhilarating is an understatement.

At that moment I had one of those "aha" experiences my college chemistry prof always talked about. At the moment I changed how I thought about what I did every day with my time - my desires and goals started to chase after me.

I know that sounds a little "eastern" or "fufu" but think about it. Two people can witness the same events - be raised in the same family and turn out completely opposite because of their own choices.

One child chooses to not follow in the destructive footsteps of an alcoholic parent while the other imitates it. The circumstance did not make the life of either child - the choice, the reaction to the circumstance defined the future.

So, I chose to believe that I was working toward my goal even though it appeared as though I was stuck in job that I couldn't get out of. That may seem harsh but a lot of people feel like that. There are too many bills to risk walking away - the bills are too great, the responsibilities to great.

But what if, without changing careers or quitting your job to pursue your dream before you are even earning a nickel - instead you chose to continue as before but with a different way of thinking?

Suppose you did your job with a new sense of ownership - like every action you took was taking you closer to your dream. What do you think would happen if you began to "bust out" of the walls of your job by doing everything with excellence?

There is no way that job can hold you! You become too big for your "JOB" and opportunities and people begin to just appear in your life. Coincidence's happen to bring you closer and closer to your dream. Your income grows from your side business faster since you've changed your thinking and actions.

"You will become as small as your controlling desire; as great as your ominant aspiration."
James Allen

In the long run, men only hit what they aim at.
Henry David Thoreau

The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives, passively waiting to see where life takes them next. The difference between the two is the difference between living fully and just existing. Napoleon Hill

Just remember, 100% of the shots you don't take, don't go in.
Wayne Gretzky

Just had to interject here...notice that you aren't just to visualize and think good thoughts. You must take the shot. Action is required! Unless you have reached the higher levels of consciousness where you can make wine out of water - you are going to have to act on your great vision or all you have is a dream.
Fran Horvath - ME!

Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible.
Doug Larson

The thing always happens that you really belive in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.
Frank Lloyd Wright

Maybe Mr. Wright should have said, belief in a thing gives you the passion to persist and make the thing you really believe in happen.

The Six Mistakes of Man, by Cicero

1. The delusion that personal gain is made by crushing others.
2. The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.
3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
4. Refusing to set aside trivial preferences.
5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind, and not acquiring the habit of reading and studying.
6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

Deciding on a Home Based Business

So, you know for sure you want to make a go of a home based business. Your initial goal is to make some extra money to pay off your credit card debit.

You definitely know you want to create an internet business - but that is about as far as you've made it. How do you decide what business? What do you do - or sell?
Well, isn't that the greatest challenge we all face?

If it was easy to pick a unique product - well, we'd all be working from our Home "yacht" based business.

One of the "secrets to success" at any self employed, or home based business is fast success. Don't buy into that, slow growth is good model. Yes, our goals must be real and we must be setup to handle the growth so we don't compromise our service - but, running any small business is a race to profitability!

Earning money fast does so many things to propel you to success. First, you absolutely have to have money to pay back the credit cards or home equity loans you took out to fund your new business.

No matter what anyone says, you need to make an investment into your home based business. First, you must invest at least 5-10 hours a week. Taking that extra time away from everyday life sometimes creates costs - eating out more; pet sitting; baby sitting; traveling - you need cash as soon as possible.

Just as important, the faster you succeed the more motivated you become. It will be very easy to get distracted by life if it takes you 6 months to make any money. A quick return is the best way to keep your energy and motivation up.

I have said this so many times - but it is worth repeating - I don't believe in get rich schemes! However, I do believe in generating cash flow as quickly as possible. To that end, you must have a strong enough, unique enough product and a process for selecting your product.

Start by listing your hobbies and skills. Investigate any potential products that fit into your lifestyle. The products or services you choose to sell don't necessarily have to be something you have personal interest in - but it is definitely a great place to start.

The learning curve is also lessened if you have some knowledge of the industry or target market. Next, who would your customer be?
What does the competition look like? Obviously, you want to be in a business that isn't extremely competitive - unless, you are offering a new product or service that fits into an already established market.

Being first to market is a huge advantage - if you have a good business behind you. Don't try to jump into an industry with a competitive product just because the industry is booming. The 2nd player is always going to be smaller and less successful than the first.

Now, if you see a great opportunity where the first to market company is failing and you have an strategic advantage - there may be strong reasons for moving into that industry.

To start, investigate your interests and hobbies and the potential competition. We'll take the next step, how to market your great time.

Live your "Work at Home" Dream

Live your “Work at Home” Dream

Working at home has been a dream of many that goes back many years. Staying at home and enjoying watching the kids grow up is a goal worth fighting for. In these days – though, it is not just about enjoying your family.

It is about controlling your time, your schedule, your income, your stress – your life. It is not just about making sacrifices for the things “that really matter”. It is about having it all – the best career, in the best environment – on our own terms. I know a lot of people use this term and it is becoming cliché – but it is about living your life on purpose.

I am passionate about encouraging people to dream big – and to helping them live their dreams. For most people – to fully live their dream – means working for themselves.

If you have ever attempted to make a little extra money "on the side" - you know most ideas sound better than they actually perform. Mostly, you end up spending more money than you ever earn - if you earn anything at all. I know you still believe in the idea - or you know people who have succeeded or you wouldn't be reading this article. So, let's take a look into making a living or part time living from the comfort of your home. You owe it to yourself to gain the freedom a home business can offer.

In the past, there have been multi-level marketing plans to sell everything from vitamins to soap. There have been mail order catalog opportunities. Many tried buying and selling real estate. Each of these opportunities made many people a lot of money, but each of them also cost many people a lot of money.

You probably have experienced first hand or know someone close to you who has had a "bad" experience. The problem is many inexperienced people get into money making schemes after attending a meeting somewhere. Even when the offer/product/company is legitimate, most people fail in business. WHY?

According to the US Small Business Administration, over 50% of small businesses fail in the first year and 95% fail with the first five years. That is all business – not just network marketing or internet based business. That is a scary statistic. This means that the average business is doomed to fail from the beginning. It also means that you will lose a lot of money if you start a business. WOW! No wonder you are leery about putting up your hard-earned cash for what is statically a crapshoot, a roll of the dice.

We already know from experience there is no sure thing - and that two different people getting into the same business can have very different results. So, what is the answer for the average person who does not want to lose their savings and even their home investing in a business? Start building a "digital business" online.

Create a website that generates its income without you needing to invest in inventory or even lease a building to house your business. Then create two or ten more websites generating income for you.

You may not know how to create a website today. It is an easily learned skill. There is software you can buy or download free that will help you. There are tutorials on making a website profitable. You can do this.

Once you have a website online you can put other people’s advertising on your site and be paid when someone buys one of their products. If this was my puppy dog webpage and I mentioned a great puppy toy with a link to my advertiser’s puppy web page you might go there and buy the toy. If you did, I would get a commission.

You could also put ads on your pages that only require someone to click on the ad for you to be paid. Again, if you were on my puppy dog toy page and an ad talks about a toy. You click on the ad to go see it and I am paid for you clicking on the ad. The advertiser feels their sales page is compelling enough for them to sell enough of that toy to cover their cost of the clicks that got you there.

Some advertisers do not require you to buy the product when you click on an ad, but I will not be paid unless you fill out their application. This is usually seen on sites like insurance sites or loan application sites. You do not have to get a policy or take out a loan for me to be paid. When you fill out the form, I qualify for my commission for sending you to the advertiser.

These are typically the ways a beginning website entrepreneur starts generating income on the Internet. Once you understand that part of internet marketing, you may move on to selling your own digital products.

A digital product is one that can be downloaded from your website. You can sell your own e-book you wrote yourself or an e-book you purchased and have the rights to sell online. If you are a programmer, you can sell you own computer program from your site. You could also sell someone else's program that you purchased the rights to sell.

Notice that not all of the above ideas require you to invest in a lot of inventory. Even the products are free if you create them yourself. Not everything you are doing so far requires a large investment of your hard earned money. It does require a large investment of your time.

All of the material you need to create a website can be found free online if you do not want to purchase some popular program. Your only expense SHOULD be a domain of your own, such as You can get free hosting from various places but for moneymaking venture, this is not advised.

For a small investment, you too can be PRESIDENT OF YOUR OWN COMPANY. Maybe the statistics are the same for success online as they are in other businesses, but this is a chance to find out without losing the farm doing it.

If the ideas in this article spark your interest in internet marketing – go back to my website where you can find a wealth of resources with more foundation building techniques as well as advanced business strategies.

My goal, my passion, is to help people get a glimpse into their own potential and then assist in the process of growth.

There is a sense of uneasiness about most people that they just can not pin-point the cause. It is this uneasiness that I wish to address and identify. Each one of us is here for a reason – with a purpose. We can never be satisfied – let alone passionate about life if we are living below our own potential.

That anxiety or distress you feel is real. It is the desire of your higher self – trying to reach you. Don’t be satisfied with the mundane!

DISTRACTIONS - Building a Home Based Business

Building of a home based business is most often undertaken part time while working a "primary" job. For most people - it is their dream to build a business and eventually "fire their boss".

But that dream dies too soon for most wanna be entrepreneur's because of lack of planning. The drive is usually motivated by some need to get out of the current situation. Maybe the work is un-motivating; maybe the company has layed off 100's of colleagues and the fear that you will be next is motivating; maybe it is a feeling that you are a harder worker, smarter person, more principled person than the people you work for...

Whatever the motivation-a dream of a working for yourself - a home based business emerges. You even find a great idea that has huge potential.

Why is it then that years have passed by and you are still at that job you despise? What happened to the dream? You spent hours and days on the project at first - why did it just die?

Honestly, it didn't die - because it was never really created. Just having a dream and an idea are not enough to propel you forward to build a business that can someday support you.

So, what happens? For most - it is simply lack of planning. Goals and real committment are required. A business plan - even a simple plan are required to make any type of progress toward financial freedom.

I don't care how great the idea is-or how leading edge the product is - an idea simply won't materialize into a successful business without a strategy.

At the very foundation a schedule of time investment is required. It must be decided up front - that a committment of 5, 10, 20 hours a week will be spent on the business. If this simple committment to a dream can not be made - there is not point in investing money or energy.

Once you have made the decision to invest your time - your plan can begin to fall into place. Decide ahead of time when you will spend that time. Make an appointment with yourself and make it as important as any other appointment in your life.

Once you give your dream of a home based business your committment of time - you are 1/2 way home!
