A Little Motivation
Samuel Johnson
The way to gain a good reputation, is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear.
Socrates
The future depends on what we do in the present.
Mahatma Gandhi
Replay your day today. What have you done to further your goals? What have you done to set your goals back? What will you intend for your tomorrow?
What if you ask yourself these same questions tomorrow night?
In my effort to gain my personal freedom in a full time self employed career - I found myself "loathing" the time I spent on my "JOB".
Even though I "knew" that what you think about expands...we all know the quotes..."as a man thinketh..."
When I finally decided to take control of my thoughts as well as my goals - everything changed. Nothing changed about my "job" - it was exactly as it had been for six years. Some days better than others; but I changed how I chose to think.
If you have never experienced a shift in thinking when everything else around you stays the same - you've got to experience it. To say that it is empowering and just a little exhilarating is an understatement.
At that moment I had one of those "aha" experiences my college chemistry prof always talked about. At the moment I changed how I thought about what I did every day with my time - my desires and goals started to chase after me.
I know that sounds a little "eastern" or "fufu" but think about it. Two people can witness the same events - be raised in the same family and turn out completely opposite because of their own choices.
One child chooses to not follow in the destructive footsteps of an alcoholic parent while the other imitates it. The circumstance did not make the life of either child - the choice, the reaction to the circumstance defined the future.
So, I chose to believe that I was working toward my goal even though it appeared as though I was stuck in job that I couldn't get out of. That may seem harsh but a lot of people feel like that. There are too many bills to risk walking away - the bills are too great, the responsibilities to great.
But what if, without changing careers or quitting your job to pursue your dream before you are even earning a nickel - instead you chose to continue as before but with a different way of thinking?
Suppose you did your job with a new sense of ownership - like every action you took was taking you closer to your dream. What do you think would happen if you began to "bust out" of the walls of your job by doing everything with excellence?
There is no way that job can hold you! You become too big for your "JOB" and opportunities and people begin to just appear in your life. Coincidence's happen to bring you closer and closer to your dream. Your income grows from your side business faster since you've changed your thinking and actions.
"You will become as small as your controlling desire; as great as your ominant aspiration."
James Allen
In the long run, men only hit what they aim at.
Henry David Thoreau
The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives, passively waiting to see where life takes them next. The difference between the two is the difference between living fully and just existing. Napoleon Hill
Just remember, 100% of the shots you don't take, don't go in.
Wayne Gretzky
Just had to interject here...notice that you aren't just to visualize and think good thoughts. You must take the shot. Action is required! Unless you have reached the higher levels of consciousness where you can make wine out of water - you are going to have to act on your great vision or all you have is a dream.

The thing always happens that you really belive in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.
Frank Lloyd Wright
Maybe Mr. Wright should have said, belief in a thing gives you the passion to persist and make the thing you really believe in happen.
